Garages are one of the most common areas people have difficulty keeping in order. Most people perceive them as one giant storage bin, a catch-all area for things that really don’t have a place. These things add up and start going vertical after the horizontal space has been covered. In some cases, it is almost like living with a landfill attached to your house. Along with having a sore view to look at and live with, it is also a potential safety hazard!

Your garage door may not be the first thing you think of “dressing up” when it’s time to sell your home. However, REALTORS® say it is worth giving it some attention. Replacing your garage door prior to listing your home could increase the asking price. They estimate increases anywhere from 1-4% according to a recent nationwide survey. On a $350,000 home, that is a curb appeal increase of between $3,500-$14,000, just because of the garage door. (The average price for a new garage door ranges from $700-$5,000. This is depending on the size of the door and the materials used to make it.)
